| | Is it just me or does radio suck these days? | | Seriously. I know Clear Channel owns most of the band width, but do they have to play the same bands/songs over and over again? And what happened to the '50s? The '60s, '70s, and '80s are great, but shouldn't an oldies station play Elvis and Chuck Berry every once in a while? Not to mention the complete lack of blues/jazz programing. Should the FCC step in or is it too late? | |

| | New School Vs. Old School | | You hear it said on the ball field, the basketball court and the gridiron all the time.
“That guy out there, he’s Old School.”
You never hear anyone referred to as New School.
I'm wondering if there's something wrong with New School. Maybe it's not all that great, but it did get me to thinking about New School vs. Old School when it comes to every day life.
Everything out there today is New School. From TV remotes to telephones to how we shop for food is designed to be sleeker, faster and sparkled with enough gadgetry to look like Disney World.
Even the way we speak has changed. We’re no longer thirsty. We hydrate.
We aren’t hungry anymore. We’re carb and protein deprived.
I was thirsty the other day and went looking for a water fountain at the grocery store. Finding none, I had to settle on forking out a dollar for a bottle of spring water. That’s when I saw the sign pasted above the shelf storing the water: New and Improved with Flavor Enhancers!
I wondered how you could make water new and improved, and was doubly confounded when I saw that flavor enhancers were added to something that has no taste.
Water had definitely made the jump to New School.

| | Who Do You Think Is Better In Producing Good Music? America or UK? | | There are two countries that battles quietly in producing great music and artists. One is America and the other is United Kingdom or The British. They produce lots of good bands and musicians from both countries. What makes it interesting is that Americans starts something like for instance, rock n' roll or rhythm and blues. While the Brits watch and studied their culture the better result just comes out from the English artist. In my opinion, Americans are the pioneers but the British are the innovators and they always produce good music better than Americans because in they don't compromise the art from their works. Unlike in the US, artists and musicians, not all, but most are just in it for the fame and money. Easy to sell but not a classic. In other words, disposable. Although for me, I like both scenes but I like British music more than the other. What about you? Which one do you think is better or greater in producing brilliant artist and music? UK or USA?Here are some of my list in the USA:
Rancid, Elvis Presley, NOFX, Chuck Berry, Lemonheads, Ramones etc.
While in the UK:
Sex Pistols, The Clash, Arctic Monkeys, Duffy, Amy Winehouse, The Pigeon Detectives, The...

What's your favourite Jim Croce tune, and why? My personal favourites are "You Don't Mess Around with Jim" (a great combine of Chuck Berry rock 'n roll and American folk acousticity) and "Operator"...

Mitchell was a powerful force on the Hendrix band's 1967 debut album "Are You Experienced?" as well as the trio's albums "Electric Ladyland" and "Axis: Bold As Love." He had an explosive drumming style that can be heard in hard-charging songs such as "Fire" and "Manic Depression."Hendrix died in 1970. Bass player Noel Redding died in 2003.
The Englishman had been drumming for the Experience Hendrix Tour, which performed Friday in Portland. It was the last stop on the West Coast part of the tour.
An employee at Portland's Benson Hotel called police after discovering Mitchell's body. Erin Patrick, a deputy medical examiner, said Mitchell apparently died of natural causes.
