| | Bridge Over Troubled Water | | I have to say that this is one of my favorite songs of all time. The music of Simon and Garfunkel brings much joy to my ears everytime I hear one of their tunes. But, the Bridge Over Trouble Water brings warmth to my heart. I remember in my youth I would turn the knobs on my radio to find a station that may be playing the song. I could have listened to it over and over again. It still has that effect on me. Later in my life I was surprised when my daughter took interest in the music of Simon and Garfunkel. She has a lovely voice and was chosen to sing "Bridge Over Troubled Water" in her school's annual Pop's Concert. She and another classmate wowed the audience with their rendition of the tune. I wish I had a recording of her performance to play for you. Perhaps I can get her to one day record it. It is one I would cherish forever.Do you have a favorite Simon and Garfunkel tune? | |

| | Library of Congress Awards Paul Simon very first Gershwin Award | | Last night on PBS a star studded two hour musical extravaganza aired. The United States Library of Congress gave Paul Simon it's first ever Gershwin Award for his contributions to popular music.
The special was a two hour tribute to Paul Simon's nearly half-century musical career and had some of the greatest musicians from many genres performing his songs.
I watched this special and loved every minute of it, especially the performances by Ladysmith Black Mambazo and when Art Garfunkel came out to do Bridge Over Troubled Water with Paul Simon.

| What is your favourite song of all time? And Why? | | My favorite song has to be Call Me When You're Sober. I immediately fell in love with this song, because Evanescence is my favorite band, srsly! When I heard it, I loved the vocals, the guitars, the piano, and omg, the organ!!!!! The band has changed so much...I love the new sound. Keep Rocking!!!!!

I also saw the Simon and Garfunkle reunion tour a few years ago and I had fun, but I was not as impressed. My question is, do you prefer Paul Simon, or Simon and Garfunkle? Although some of the Simon and Garfunkle songs are among my favorites, Paul Simon's Graceland is probably in my top 3 favorite albums of all time. | |
