myLot Discussions on The Grateful Dead Box Sets
Any Grateful Dead fans on this site?
I just did a search and could not find a single post about this band! Any fans out there, and if so what are some of your favorite songs by them??
What do you think of the Grateful Dead without Jerry Garcia?
The Grateful Dead are playing near my town this weekend. I've been a Dead fan for years now but I'm not sure how I feel about the Dead without Jerry. I still think it would be an amazing experience to go regardless, but my husband thinks that it would be a waste of time and money since there is is no Dead without Jerry. What do you think?
GRATEFUL DEAD
Is anyone else here a self proclaimed deadhead?
Have you ever seen the Grateful Dead?
And if so how many times, and where and when was your first show!
Grateful Dead or ZZTop?
Which is better?
OMG--I Don't Believe It...It Was THAT Long Ago?
Just watching something on the news thatforty years ago one of the greatest music festival occurred-----WOODSTOCK and I'm thinking...crap was it THAT long ago--talk about feeling like an old fart[em]shocked[/em]I was only thirteen years old when Woodstock happened and way to young to have been there in person, but have seen the Woodstock movie (both versions...theatrical and extended)For those of you too young...the Woodstock Festival took place August 15th to August 18th 1969 and was coined the festival of three days of peace, love and music as it was the largest ever get together of people recorded for a music festival. Originally only 5,000 people were expected at that now famous Max Yasgur's 600 acre farm.....instead over half a million people showed up. Considering the number of people that were there, it really WAS a peaceable celebration...no fights, no murders, everyone was mellow--oh course maybe since most people were stoned out of their minds...[em]w00t[/em]. Woodstock epitomized that whole hippie, peace and love movement I was to grow up inFor more particulars of Woodstockhttp://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Woodstock_FestivalThe list of performers is...
Dead Heads......Your Opinion please!
Ok so as most of you know...I make incense burners. This girl requested one with an image of Jerry. She wanted a pic of him in his later years. I found a great pic of him playing guitar...beautiful smile...etc. Above his pic, I also added an emblem of the dancing bears with the words...grateful dead printed around the bears. She didn't like the bears altho they do symbolize jerry....could be wrong but arent they his artwork? anyway....she wanted simply a pic of him done up. I did another with just a larger pic of jerry...pretty much head shot. Everything in me wants to add the year of his birth and the year of his death. My daughter said ...as fussy as this lady sounds...just give her the pic. place your vote and input please?? This has to be done by thursday. After that I am moving and wont be working on anymore of this stuff until May. I actually am packing all of my craft stuff up in the morning so if something is to be added it will have to be before noon tomorrow. I wish I had a camera so I could show you the burner but alas...that is a circuit city story.[em]lol[/em]
Grateful Memories
Happy New Year all!! We are thinking about adding a new page to our website.. www.justthegratefuldead.com Would anyone be interested in sharing their memories/experiences of "attending" Grateful Dead concerts, shows?? You might connect with old friends and fellow Dead Heads from the past. If we get enouph poeple interested we will start "building" it A.S.A.P
Do you burn incense?
I do. Although I find that the smell is too strong while it's actually burning but I like the scent it leaves after. What I do is light a stick then leave the room and do something else while it's burning. I am also picky with the type of incense I burn. I only use Nag Champa. This is what I learned from Wikipedia:It is an Indian incense originating from the Champa flower It has a high concentration of Sandalwood It is burnt in Hindu temples called Ashrams It absorbs moisture from the air which causes it to sometimes feel damp Bob Dylan is known for burning Nag Champa during his concert performances, as is Grateful Dead and The Black Crows So do you enjoy burning incense?
I need your creativity!
As many of you know, I have been making incense bottles for extra income. Things have been going pretty well....great actually. The problem I am having now is that I've reached a block. I have done fairies, dragons, disney characters, etc. I have done so many jimi hendrix, bob marley & grateful dead...aerosmith, led zep. I need new ideas. Done the sports thing too. I'm starting to feel bored and need fresh ideas. What is popular besides the above? Oh...I've also done several "joker" ones. maybe some younger people here could give me some good ideas. Please stimulate me!
